“To my mind, healing means returning a malfunctioning human body to full unrestricted function, NOT to remove parts of it by operation or amputation.”

–Rudolf Breuss (1899-1991)

What is the breuss diet?

In comparison to the Gerson therapy, Dr. Breuss cancer treatment is a very rigid diet consisting only of fruits, vegetables and herbs lasting for 42 days or 6 consecutive weeks in a row. The goal of this diet is to let starve the cancer and to cause the suicide of any cancerous cells while nourishing all healthy cells of your body with as many as vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients as possible.

According to Dr. Breuss, cancer cells have a very different metabolism in comparison to normal cells. Dr. Breuss pretends that due to the absence of dietary protein and any type of solid food, the body will start to destroy abnormal cells by taking protein from the malign tumor. This process of destruction will lead cancer cells to its final demise.

In other words, the Breuss diet, by its starvation, inhibits the natural suicide of the cancerous cells, a natural process known as « apoptosis », without harming the healthy normal cells at all.

Refering to Dr. Breuss, this process "apoptosis" will start only in the second part of the fasting period (so after 21 days) and needs 6 weeks to completely purify and revive the whole body. This explains why the Breuss diet has to last at least for 42 days in a row.

What kind of food is allowed?

Referring to his book, Dr. Breuss gave strict instructions about the preparation and ingestion of the specific juice (A) and teas (B) you are allowed to consume.

A) The original « Breuss Juice »

In order to guarantee the full freshness, vitamins and minerals of the Breuss juice, the below described ingredients should be fully organic, of high quality and frequently be shopped in smallish amounts.

The Diet foresees a maximum ingested amount of juice of 500 ml per day (!).

According to the original recipe, the ingredients listed below amount for: 50% beetroot, 20% carrot, 20% celery, 3% raw potato, and 2% black radish.

Ingredients:

  • 10 ounces (300 grams) of BEETROOTS to inhibit the growth and the proliferation of the cancerous cells.
  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of CARROTS to flush out free radicals of the body by its antioxidants.
  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of CELERY to reduce and destroy the toxins of your body due to the « apigenin », its primary constituent flavone.
  • About one ounce (30 grams) of BLACK RADISH to destroy cancerous cells and to provide fiber, folate, vitamin C, antioxidants and minerals to your body.
  • One POTATO (if desired), due to its high concentration of potassium. (protects the heart functions).
  • NB. Instead of adding the potato to the juice mixture, the diet allows to replace this ingredient by drinking a cup of potato peel tea each day. Or this is not recommended for patients diagnosed with LIVER CANCER, where adding the potato to the juice, is absolutely necessary.

Preparation:

Mix all these vegetables in a juicer or blender. Once finished the mixture has to be filtered (!).

By filtering, all the fibrous remnants of the juice are removed which leads to an easier absorbtion and digestion as well ass all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals are flushed directly into your blood system.

Attention: It is important that you don’t swallow the juice right away. To get the best effects and results, you should take tiny, slow sips, not fast gulps and mix it with a lot of saliva before swallowing.
